Diabetics beware, Yumeiro Patissiere isn’t the only super-saccerine anime in the fall. A CLAMP production, Kobato combines equal parts adorable moe antics, dark undertones, and thin bishies. While some find that the overriding cuteness spoils the effort, I love how it juxtaposes with the more serious story elements. And CLAMP designs, while occasionally silly, are quite attractive on the whole.

For shoujo and romance fans of ANY stripe, Kimi ni Todoke is this season’s must-watch. The stills are beautiful, the comedy is lighthearted, and the secondary cast is one of the best I’ve seen. The six episodes that have aired at the time of this posting don’t cover much ground, but that makes it all the more enjoyable.

Final Fantasy XIII hits stores 03.09.10

FF13 is set to make a simultaneous release for both PS3 and 360 platforms on March 9th, 2010 in North America and Europe. Japan gets first dibs at the end of the year on December 17.

As a FF fanboy4life, there’s nothing much to say but, CAN’T WAIT.

If you’re looking for the outright prettiest anime to watch this fall, Letter Bee TV would be a good bet. Set in a world of endless night, this series features attractive character designs and fantastic scenery. The looks-to-be-epic story doesn’t get underway until episode three, but don’t let that stop you. Given that the show just introduced a loli tsundere sidekick, it appears that this one’ll be entertaining on many levels going forward.

Conan & Andy go back to the Japanese Animation studio to do more voice overs but this time for Blood, The Last Vampire.

It seems the long anticipated Trigun movie will be released in Spring 2010. For those who haven’t heard, have no fear, there was no mention that it’s live action. Madhouse has taken the reigns again for the film’s animation, as well as the original seiyuu reprising their respective roles.

A few years ago, a friend of mine and his team pitched a game to Disney which would include Mickey Mouse in a darker more evil setting unknown to Mickey himself. It would be total opposite of what the Disney world was used to with steam-punk included and a fun adventure awaiting Mickey and his friends. That year, it didn’t go through and the project itself was vaulted like every other project and idea that came to mind…

until this year.*

Disney’s Junction Point Studios and Warren Specter will be developing Epic Mickey for the Wii. This will be the darkest storyline and setting we will be seeing Mickey and his friends in; darker then Kingdom Hearts itself. That’s right. Domo-kun is coming to 7-11. I didn’t believe it at first, but I heard it on the RADIO. Twice. I’ll buy X-men, Power Rangers, Spider Man, and other mainstream properties being used to sell slurpees, but Domo, despite his internet fame, strikes me as a little outside the tastes of many Americans.
